Sales of existing single-family homes fell 12 percent in July compared to a year ago.
According to data released by the Greensboro Regional Realtors Association, the Greensboro area had 512 home sales last month, compared to 582 in July 2008. However, compared with June of this year, sales were up 6.2 percent from 482.
The average sale price was $164,945 in July, down from $173,422 a year earlier. It was up slightly from $161,973 in June.
The total dollar volume in July was $84.5 million, down from $100.9 million a year earlier, but also up from June’s total of $78.1 million.
